We came home from Chicago to find our little Meeples crowded around something, all a flutter with giggles and excitement. We said hello, headed into the bedroom to unpack and get a load of laundry together. Usually when we have been away for a few days the Meeples rush in and tackle us with hugs, and beg us to tell them all the details. Expecting our normal routine we braced ourselves, but then nothing happened. They didn't storm through the hallways, there was no mini stampede of fur and felt and there was no jumping on the bed. What were they doing?
We slowly made our way to the living room cautiously preparing for a sneak attack, because the Meeples are so very, very clever, but nothing. They were still standing in the same spot, huddled around and beaming with pride and confidence. I cleared my throat, ever slow subtly, and yet they didn't even know we were there. Andrea and I looked at each other, gave a simultaneous shoulder shrug and then Andrea shouted out her best Donna Noble "Oi, what's goin' on then?"
As the Meeples parted, faces still radiant with the pride of a thousand mothers on graduation day, they pointed to the object of their attention. The new STUFFED magazine. An advanced copy had come in the mail while we were away and they had taken it upon themselves to open it. They explained that since they are not from around here the whole "federal offense thingy" about opening other people's mail didn't really scare them, and they couldn't wait until we got home. They flipped through the whole magazine, which is really hard due to the lack of opposable thumbs, until they found the picture of their friends on page 92.
That's right ladies and gentlemen, furry and non-furry creatures, we have been featured in the August issue of STUFFED magazine. The Meeples, and Bearmojo, have hit the printed page and cannot wait for you to read all about them. This issue will hit the stands on August 1st, make sure to get a copy before they disappear.
